Water Policy

Overview

The WGGA Water Policy has been developed to guide the deliberations of the Australian winegrape sector relating to water rights, access, security, allocation environmental flows and trade of water.

Main points of the policy:

• Access to irrigation water is essential to the commercial production of winegrapes in most winegrape growing regions of Australia.
• This is a time of change in the water debate, particularly in the Murray Darling Basin with impacts on irrigators and regional communities.
